Directorate of Tourism, Uttar Pradesh, invites applications for State Level Tourist Guide Training 2012

State Guide Training Programme
Eligibility Criteria 
 The basic eligibility criteria are mentioned as under:
· Graduate of a recognized University or 03 years degree holder in tourism
from recognized University/Institute
OR
10 +2 or equivalent certificate with at least six months regular course in
foreign language from a recognized University/ approved institution/ well
recognized organization, Embassy or their cultural centre etc. In case of
any dispute about acceptance of such institutions, the decision of the
Director General of the UP tourism Department would be final.
· Fluency in English is essential.
Age Limit
· The applicant should be between
20 to 65 years of age on the date of
advertisement appearing in the newspaper.
· The upper age limit would be relaxable by 05years for SC/ST and OBC
candidates.

I. Applications should be sent only by speed post / courier and the application must reach within 15 days from the date of publication in the newspaper to DIRECTOR, MANYAWAR
KANSHIRAM INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, Vikalp Khand –II , Gomti Nagar,
Lucknow-226016
II. All the received applications will be screened by the Screening Committee. All the applicants who fulfill the necessary qualification shall appear in the WRITTEN TEST, which will
confined primarily to the following subjects:
a. Knowledge of Monuments - 50 marks
b. Questions on History - 50 marks
c. General Knowledge - 100 marks
III. INTERVIEW: Those who obtain at least 40 % marks in the WRITTEN ENTRANCE
EXAMINATION, will be called for interview. Selected candidates after interview will
undergo a training programme of 09 weeks.
IV. Any candidate who fails to complete the entire procedure as mentioned above for whatsoever reason will not be considered for Guide Training Programme, no exception will be made in this regard.
V. All applications must be accompanied with a BANK DRAFT of Rs.1500/- as application fee  (for SC/ST/OBC Rs 1000/- only) in favor of “MANYAWAR KANSHIRAM INSTITUTE OF TOURISM MANAGEMENT” payable at LUCKNOW . This money is non-refundable under any circumstances.
VI. COURSE FEE : The  selected candidates will be required to pay the course fee including
examination fee of Rs. 25000/- ( Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only), which will be
submitted by a BANK DRAFT drawn in the favor of , “MANYAWAR KANSHIRAM
INSTITUTE OF TOURISM MANAGEMENT” payable at LUCKNOW. The fee has to be
deposited in only one installment at the time of admission for training. Once deposited the fee will not be refunded (full or partial) under any circumstances.
VII. After successful training and passing out each candidate will be issued a yellow color GUIDE IDENTITY CARD and he/she will be eligible to work as State Level Guide in the State of
UTTAR PRADESH only, as an approved Guide; it cannot be transferred to any other state of
India and also it will be renewed from time to time as the rules. Each candidate has also to give an undertaking in writing on a prescribed format, before getting the yellow color GUIDE
IDENTITY CARD, to abide by the terms and condition s regulating the conduct and performance of approved Guide.
VIII. RETIREMENT: There will be no retirement age for such Guides.
