Civil Engineering - A career option

There are  various branches of engineering but  civil engineering has always popularity among the students.In Job market demand for professionals in this field has risen once again.


Nature of Work
The main task of civil engineer is to build structures like building, road, bridge, dam, stations, airports, ports etc are construction related work. Civil Engineers carried out works like planning, designing, budgeting and construction. Repair and maintenance of the structure is also created by the civil engineers.


Academic qualification
Candidates who want to do B.Tech in Civil Engineering, it is required to pass 12th with physics, chemistry and Maths. IIT - JEE and AIEEE entrance examinations are important to enter in the field.You can take entry in IITs through JEE exam. State level entrance test are organized for admission in various engineering colleges. Candidate want to do Polytechnic in Civil Engineering they should be 10th pass.  BTech course is of 4 yrs duration course, diploma course is of 2 yrs  duration.

While in the field of Civil Engineering there are
BE / BTech courses, the diploma courses are also available in this field. The main courses - BE Civil Engineering, B.Tech Civil Engineering, ME Civil Engineering, M.Tech Civil Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Certificate course in building design and so on. The PhD courses are also there.
