Central Police Forces Examination for youth can be an excellent opportunity. In about 45 cities across the country this exam is conducted. The successful young people in the exam will receive the designation of the Assistant Commandant.  Through this examination 500 to 700 vacancies are filled every year. Through this examination candidate get selected in following military forces  BSF, Border Security Force (BSF) , Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo Tibetan Paramilitary border police forces, etc. There are opportunities for both men and women, but women candidates is not selected in  BSF and ITBP.

The post of Assistant Commandant in the Para Military Forces are full of great responsibility.So, the selection criteria for them is very difficult.

Required Qualification

20- 25 year of Age ,graduated candidate can apply for this examination  relaxation in age for reserved category candidates are also provided. Length for male candidates is 165cm and 157 cm for women. In addition, body weight and vision (6/6 or 6/9) all conditions related to this should be qualified.

How to Apply

Send the application in accordance with the prescribed format. Application - form and prospectus can be obtained from main post office across the country. In addition, applications can be made online.

Examination Format

The written test is a total of 450 points. Paper 1 is of

 250 points in which  125 questions is of Intelligence Test, Numerical Ability, General Knowledge based on reasoning. Paper 2 are based on Essay, precise writing and comprehension questions which is of 150 points. The paper is scheduled for the 2-2 hour period. After this candidates has to faced with The Physical Efficiency Test  (PET).  This test includes 100 meters, 800 meter races, long races, high jump and  short put. Candidates those who get cleared in these test they take part in interviews and personality tests, 150 points are determined for this.

How you can see Future

 The pay scale of Assistant Commandant  is as per government rules. Also there are all kinds of allowances, which makes total income is very attractive. Time and experience will help in promotion. After 6 years you can be Deputy Commandent,After 11 years  the second in command and after 15 years  can be made Commandant. For young and dynamic candidates it is not too difficult to reach Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Inspector General (IG) post.

Exam preparation tips

This examination paper first paper is objective type and the other is Descriptive type.

There is also negative marking. Should not try to fluke in exam.

Both paper are taken on the same day, in morning and evening shifts. So, practice Mock Test Papers.

Every day practice for Essay writing timely and prepare at least 20 topics. Use short sentences and use words, in which spelling mistake likely to be nil.

The final selection is based on total points of written examination and personality test.

NCERT Text Books from 10th to 12th in terms of the test can be quite useful.

You can also take help from good guide in preparation.

If you consult many books then it will give you confusion. It would be better not use many books..

Time and accuracy can be said the key to success in this test.
